Software Development . Systems Administration . Cloud Architecture

profile

whoami

My name is Victor. I’m an experienced software developer, systems administrator, and cloud architect living in Burlington, Canada. I have a programming background, but I am more inclined towards infrastructure support, reliability, and architect level capabilities in the cloud.

I am skilled in object-oriented analysis and design, object-oriented software construction, design by contract, software design patterns, and architectural design patterns. I am a strong engineering professional with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from York University, a Cyber Security Management certification from University of Toronto, and few certifications from AWS.

Having acquired coding, deployment, and operations experience gained through different roles, I have nurtured a passion for combining the three. DevOps is all about the unification and automation of these processes. These tasks rely on understanding not only development life cycles, but DevOps culture, and its philosophy, practices, and tools.

Understanding that not all the problems are strictly technical, nor their solutions, it is important to communicate. Communication is key. I listen, understand, and apply what I’m given to my problem solving.

I consider my work ethic and growth mindset to be two of my greatest assets. I am naturally an industrious, diligent, and highly self-motivated individual. The type of person I am means that I strive to continuously improve. I have the willingness to keep on learning through continuous education and that I always have goals that I’m working towards.

I love Unix/Linux technologies, virtualization, containerization, and cloud computing. I’m very excited about the many benefits cloud computing brings to any organization from rapid deployment times, cyber security, and highly available systems to quantum computing and machine learning.

My Philosophy

Software development is an art. It’s like living in a dream state. The state of mind you need to be when programming is out of this world. I’s like Monet on an empty canvas. To be productive, you have to enter an entirely symbolic world, where you manipulate algorithms and variables, foresee flows and contingencies, test out ideas, and follow intricate threads of thoughts. Working in this sort of world requires long periods of uninterrupted concentration.
Having a passion for technology, I am always in a constant state of personal and professional growth. Learning keeps me growing. Learning keeps me moving. Keep on learning and you will never have to work in your life.

Multiple sections within my portfolio are protected. Being a Cybersecurity professional and a strong security and privacy advocate, I’m very meticulous about sharing as well as protecting my personal information and the privacy of others around me. In my field, the risk of oversharing is far too great. Drop me message if you are interested in exploring my portfolio.
