A team of scientists has captured rare footage of bowhead whales in the Arctic. Despite their enormous size, bowhead whales are known to be elusive and until recently scientists had to rely on lower-quality aerial observations made using small aircraft at higher altitudes. This footage, captured by drone, gets as close as 50 feet from the majestic ocean giants, and captures incredible shots of them rolling, flipper slapping, tail breaching and socializing undisturbed.
